 If you're looking for a world class whale shark encounter, the aggregation in Isla Mujeres, Mexico is the largest and most reliable and the most visually spectacular interaction in the world. So, that's where we go.

If you want to dive with tiger sharks it has to be Tiger Beach - a truly unique destination in the Bahamas where big sharks are plentiful and ready to play.
For oceanic whitetip shark encounters we visit Cat Island in the Bahamas because there are more oceanic whitetips there than any other dive site in the world.

To see the greatest variety of sharks we run our shark safari in South Africa where 14 or more species can be encountered in one week of diving.

You get the idea. For the most amazing adventures, its critical to go to the best locations with the right operators that know exactly when to go and how to find and safely interact with the animals.

 

             
 

LOUNGE ON A LIVEABOARD OR BASK ON THE BEACH
How we get there is also important. Big Fish Expeditions are serious trips for serious photographers and adventurers. The liveaboards we choose are roomy enough for shooters to easily set up their dive and camera gear and comfortable enough to be able to relax and recuperate after a 'hard day' in the water.

Andy Murch

EXPEDITION LEADER

Andy Murch is an accomplished photojournalist specializing in big animals.

Andy's images and editorials have appeared in hundreds of books and magazines around the world from titles as varied as the Journal of Zoology to Digital Photography Magazine.

Andy is the Creator of the ever expanding Elasmodiver Shark and Ray Field Guide.

 

When not running expeditions or on photographic assignments Andy lives and dives on Vancouver Island, Canada

 

Andy is also the driving force behind PREDATORS IN PERIL which shines a spotlight on many endangered species of sharks that are overlooked by mainstream conservation groups. Predators In Peril is entirely funded by Big Fish Expeditions.
